Description
About the workshop:
With its majestic hues of cyan and cobalt blue, cyanotypes are among the earliest and most basic photographic processes. They also have unexpected contemporary applications. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to print on fabric, paper, and a variety of techniques using this magical sunlight-activated process. Participants will print on supplied paper and cotton cloth materials to experience the variety of options the cyanotype process offers. Using this fascinating method, participants will be able to turn any image into a digital negative. During the course, participants will make original photographs, found images, and treasured family photos. They’ll get a printed piece and the knowledge to continue printing at home.
Participants are welcome to bring their own papers, white t-shirts, or fabric, but cyanotype chemistry, cotton material, and an assortment of papers are included.
